WHAT YOU GET

The Amech Ami Program

When you join Amech Ami, you gain access to four major resources — a year-long cohort, personal guidance, community integration, and Beit Din advocacy.

The Cohort

A weekly, year-long Zoom class on Jewish concepts and law with Rabbi Kaplan and other conversion candidates currently preparing for their conversions through Amech Ami. Along with thorough, engaging and interactive lessons, you'll meet and build relationships with others who are also going through this journey. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15pm — 8:15pm EST.

The next Cohort begins in October 2026.

Spiritual
Chevruta

Approximately every three months, Rabbi Kaplan meets individually with each student for a Spiritual Chevruta — checking in on your progress, identifying challenges or successes, assigning outside learning, and agreeing on goals for the coming months.

Faciliated
Community
Integration

A key requirement of Orthodox conversion is a sponsoring rabbi — usually the rabbi of your local synagogue. Amech Ami facilitates this relationship, or helps match you with an appropriate rabbi if you don't yet have one, so your communal life and practice are aligned before you approach the Beit Din.

Beit Din
Liason

Amech Ami maintains a network of accepted and respected Orthodox rabbis, dayanim, and batei din. We personally advocate for you and liaise on your behalf with the rabbinic court, easing one of the most challenging parts of the conversion process.

Prefer one-on-one learning, or want to supplement the cohort with dedicated personal time? Rabbi Kaplan also offers private tutoring packages with flexible scheduling. Available alongside the Amech Ami program or on its own.
